Dead To Me (Graver Talker #1)

Dead to Me (Grave Talker, #1)Dead to Me by Annie Anderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Annie Anderson is now one of my favorites. I absolutely adore the way she writes and I always feel like I can relate to the characters. They are always welcoming and like someone you could actually run into on the street.

In Dead To Me, detective Darby Adler or D to her friends in struggling to keep up a normal life while being able to see and talk to the dead.
When a high school friend turns up dead D gets lost trying to understand her real and true power, power hidden from her all these years.

I highly recommend this book as well as anything by Annie Anderson. It’s definitely worth getting. You will never be disappointed.

Flame Kissed (Phoenix Rising #1)

** spoiler alert ** I do believe the Fates have blessed me with this wonderful series. I started reading Annie’s series out of order and read about Max first. So it was very enjoyable to get some backstory on some of the characters I had met. Like Aiden and Ian. Most definitely Aurelia, I can’t wait to see how her and Max come together.

What made this book so great for me personally is the relationship between Aurelia and Rhys. Just so happens it is extremely relatable. Me and my boyfriend have dated on an off for 24 years. With me never giving in. Him always being in love with me. We had a similar conversation as this one below.

“Why what? Why save you? Because I’ve loved you since I was twelve years old, and you told your mother you’d rather eat a pinecone than wear a corset. I loved you when you didn’t love me. I loved you when you were married to someone else, when you were pregnant with another man’s child. And I loved you even when you hated me. I loved you before we were bound… and I love you still.”

“I love you too, you know,” I say. Because it’s true. I love him, and I’m just now figuring out, I’ve loved him for a long time. Before Lucien. Before he saved me. Before it all went to shit. I just wouldn’t let myself fall to it, too stubborn to admit I cared for the man chosen for me. Well, I’m choosing him now. “I know. I was just waiting for you to come around. I knew you’d get it eventually,” he says with a relieved smile.

I read this to him and said we are Aurelia and Rhys. Only you didn’t have to wait 160 years. And he answered back, you are right and we are. Later he nick named our Facebook chat Me:Aurelia and his : Rhys. Sweetest thing ever.

One of my favorite things about how Annie writes is even tho they are Fantasy and I’m not going to phase anytime soon into a Phoenix, her books are very relatable.

Thank you for another great book.

Queen of Fate & Fire (Rogue Ethereal #6)

What an amazing series!!! Each and every book is excellently written in a way where you just can’t put them down. Max is an unbelievably amazing character, who is strong and good hearted. She makes mistakes and takes responsibility for her actions, never once giving in to the pressure and is who she is, like it or not. She is very relatable in a way many main characters are not.

The passion between her and her mate, is undeniably hot. Every girl will want her own Knight from Hell after reading this series.

And so many series end with unanswered questions. Not this one. Everything is as it should be.

Annie Anderson is an amazing writer and I highly recommend her books.

Sister of Embers & Echoes (Rogue Ethereal #4)

The more I read the better the story gets. I absolutely love the way Annie writes. This is my first series of hero’s I have read but I will be reading the rest of her books when I’m done.

Lady of Madness & Moonlight (Rogue Ethereal #3)

Daughter of Souls & Silence (Rogue Ethereal #2)

I can not put this series down. If I didn’t need sleep I’d read the next 3 books immediately.

Woman of Blood & Bone (Rogue Ethereal #1)

I finished this book in 2 sessions. The first night I had to force myself to put it down. It was way past bed time and I needed to be up early. Night 2 before bed reading I said screw it I will just be tired in the AM.

This book was too good to put down. I loved everything about it Especially Max’s attitude. Starting book two tomorrow.

Highly recommend!!!!

Also thank you Facebook for the suggestion for once you did good with the ads!!!!

The End of Oz (Dorothy Must Die #4) by Danielle Paige

The End of Oz (Dorothy Must Die, #4)The End of Oz by Danielle Paige
Ding dong—Dorothy is dead.

I watched as the Emerald Palace crumbled to the ground, burying Dorothy, the Girl Who Rode the Cyclone, under the rubble. And now that the rightful ruler, Ozma, has been restored to the throne…

Oz is finally free.

My name is Amy Gumm. You might remember me as the other girl from Kansas. When a tornado whisked me away to the magical land of Oz, I was given a mission: Dorothy must die.
But it turns out girls from Kansas are harder to kill than we look.
Now the Road of Yellow Brick is leading me away from Oz to the dark world of Ev, where I have a new, powerful enemy to deal with: the Nome King. And—surprise—he has a gingham-clad bride.
With my magical shoes and a shrinking group of allies, I have one final chance to fulfill my mission, and save not only what’s left of Oz, but Kansas, too. As the line between Good and Wicked blurs even further, I have to find a way to get rid of Dorothy once and for all—without turning into a monster myself.
Dorothy once said there’s no place like home. Can I stop her from destroying mine?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have so many mixed emotions about this book. I loved every moment of it and I didn't want it to end!!! I laughed! I cried! I was happy and sad and happy again! This series has by far been one of my most favorites!!! Someday, over the rainbow...

Yellow Brick War (Dorothy Must Die #3) by Danielle Paige

Yellow Brick War (Dorothy Must Die, #3)Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige
Once upon a time, there was a girl from Kansas named Dorothy. You might know her as the Girl Who Rode the Cyclone. She ended up in Oz, where she became friends with the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion. But the temptation of magic was too much for her. She let it change her. Her friends became twisted versions of their former selves. The magical land of Oz is now a dark and menacing place. My name is Amy Gumm. Tornadoes must have a thing about girls from Kansas, because I got swept away on one too. I also landed in Oz, where Good is Wicked, Wicked is Good, and the Wicked Witches clued me in to my true calling: Assassin. The only way to stop Dorothy from destroying Oz—and Kansas—is to kill her. And I’m the only one who can do it. But I failed. Others died for my mistakes. Because of me, the portal between the worlds has been opened and Kansas and Oz are both in danger. And if I don’t find a way to close it? Dorothy will make sure I never get to go home again.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm not sure there are many more ways for me to say how awesome I believe Danielle Paige to be. That being said this was probably my favorite so far!!! I love that Amy has returned home and gets to taste a bit of her old life before having to return to Oz to fight another battle. I'm anxious to begin the next book and see how Amy defeats the next evil!!! And I'm so praying that she gets the boy!!! She deserves it after all the work she's done to defend Oz and take down Dorothy!!!! Another great read!!! This whole series is fantastic!!!

The Wicked Will Rise (Dorothy Must Die, #2) by Danielle Paige

The Wicked Will Rise (Dorothy Must Die, #2)The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige
In this dark, high-octane sequel to the New York Times bestselling Dorothy Must Die, Amy Gumm must do everything in her power to kill Dorothy and free Oz. To make Oz a free land again, Amy Gumm was given a mission: remove the Tin Woodman’s heart, steal the Scarecrow’s brain, take the Lion’s courage, and then Dorothy must die... But Dorothy still lives. Now the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked has vanished, and mysterious Princess Ozma might be Amy’s only ally. As Amy learns the truth about her mission, she realizes that she’s only just scratched the surface of Oz’s past—and that Kansas, the home she couldn't wait to leave behind, may also be in danger. In a place where the line between good and evil shifts with just a strong gust of wind, who can Amy trust—and who is really Wicked?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As always Danielle Paige has done a fantastic job!!! I absolutely love this series. It's made me like Wizard Of Oz like I never have before. Amy Gumm is a strong character who is like any other young girl trying to find her purpose and place in the world and in book 2 she begins to find her way. Can't wait to start book 3 the Yellow Brick War. Which I'm doing as soon as I close this out. 🙂

Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake

Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2)Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
It's been months since the ghost of Anna Korlov opened a door to Hell in her basement and disappeared into it, but ghost-hunter Cas Lowood can't move on. His friends remind him that Anna sacrificed herself so that Cas could live—not walk around half dead. He knows they're right, but in Cas's eyes, no living girl he meets can compare to the dead girl he fell in love with. Now he's seeing Anna everywhere: sometimes when he's asleep and sometimes in waking nightmares. But something is very wrong...these aren't just daydreams. Anna seems tortured, torn apart in new and ever more gruesome ways every time she appears. Cas doesn't know what happened to Anna when she disappeared into Hell, but he knows she doesn't deserve whatever is happening to her now. Anna saved Cas more than once, and it's time for him to return the favor.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an amazing end to this story!!!! I teared up. Happy tears. I'm so happy Anna is at peace. Tho I will miss Cas and Thomas. Maybe a spinoff???

As always Kendare writes and amazing tale that you just don't want to put down!! Anna dressed in blood is one of my favorite series and I recommend it to everyone!!!

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons WhyThirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
You can’t stop the future. You can’t rewind the past. The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play. Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker–his classmate and crush–who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah’s voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he’ll find out why. Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah’s pain, and as he follows Hannah’s recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a great book. I loved how Clay follows the map around town listening to Hannah's cassette tapes. It made the whole thing surreal. And bottom line, never judge someone based on apparences or rumors and gossip, you NEVER know what they are going thru or why. One day it may be you that needs just that one person to reach out. Dont bottle it all up. If you feel like you're spiraling out of control reach out to even one peson even if you feel stupid. It may just change your life.
