The Telling by Alexandra Sirowy

The TellingThe Telling by Alexandra Sirowy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book a lot and at moments couldn't put it down. However the inner monologue of Lana got long and boring at times. I feel so much more could have been happening in the present and so much more of Ben summed up in fewer words. I'm not entirely happy with the ending. While for me a mystery fan, I had deduced the killer mid story, I was expecting a more final and dramatic Parker saves the day kind of ending. Do not take any of this wrong it is a really good book and totally worth the read. Just maybe with more pee and drink breaks during Lana's Ben babble. I look forward to more books by Alexandra Sirowy!!!

This was a very enjoyable book. It definitely held my interest the whole way thru from start to finish. The suspense was just right. Not too much but just enough that it didnt distract from the back story of Jen's mom and dad as well as Harmony House itself. Jen compares Harmony House to the hotel from The Shinning and I found myself doing this often as well. In the end tears came to my eyes it was so very bitter sweet. Really liked this book.

I enjoyed this story very much. There were times where Breezy would start to babble in her mind, and I'd get a little lost, but it was easy to catch back up. Mother confused me a bit as well, but overall I really enjoyed this book, I think there could be more of Breezy's adventures. I would totally read them all! Side note I think lil miss bff Melanie should have been slapped at least once!

I really liked the concept of this storyline and it had major potential. Reading it was a struggle, it took a very long time to figure out the time period, it got very confusing. Thoughts were jumbled and ran on at times taking from the story. I really wanted to like it more but I just couldn't get into it, this was not a story for me.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can't deny Melissa Marr is one of my top 5 favorite authors! She never disappoints me! Another great book! This totally took me back to when I first discovered her and Wicked Lovely. This however is not Wicked Lovely, its Wicked Lovely gone bad ass assassins! It started off a little slow but was packed full of major information. Then at 50% of my way thru I could not and did not put it down! Just one more chapter,I swear, then I will go to bed! I just had to know what was next! I don't know if there is a book two for sure, but I'm praying that there is and I can return once again to the Hidden Lands! Awesome job Melissa!

I really enjoy reading Kate Vale's stories. They are completely out of my wheel house but give my mind a fresh new look at the world. I enjoy her writing and really get into each story. This one really tugged at my heart being a teen mom once myself. I would definitely recommend reading this book!

I'm completely and totally addicted to this series! I so want to keep going and to see how things go for Dan, Abby and Jordan, what are their next adventures! Some how I always seem to end up in New Orleans when I read, but it always makes for a grand adventure, one I never regret. This story is no exception, I always feel like im part of the group helping Dan figure out what's going on. Well since the next book isn't out yet, I suppose I will start the Novellas in the meantime.

This is a great take on The House Of Usher. I felt like Madeleine was my friend and was cheering for her through the whole book, praying and hoping she could find a way to break the House Of Usher curse. I think Mr. Poe would very much like this take on his story...

As always Melissa Marr has written a book I just can't put down. Even when I tried I couldn't I just needed to know who the bad guy was. And the ending is jam packed with action. If you like a creepy and suspenseful mystery , I highly recommend picking up this book. I'm not gonna like I love Melissa Marr she is in my top 4 favorite authors and I don't think she can write a book I wouldn't love. There is always that fear going into a book that it could happen. But never once has she let me down. So why are you still reading my review go buy Made For You!

What an amazing tale. True love at its finest! I was luck to have received this as an ARC. I will most definitely recommend this to everyone. Well written, just enough humor, intrigue, magic and love! I was sad to end this book. But I know Lucy will have many lifetimes of happiness to come. Great book!

Approved ARC from Netgalley

This is one of the best stories I've read in a long time. This book would make an amazing movie.

" You may think me biased, being murdered myself. But my state of being has nothing to do with the curiosity toward my own species, if we can be called such. We do not go gentle, as your poet encourages, into that good night.

A dead girl walks the streets.

She hunts murderers. Child killers, much like the man who threw her body down a well three hundred years ago.

And when a strange boy bearing stranger tattoos moves into the neighborhood so, she discovers, does something else. And soon both will be drawn into the world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from American suburbia to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan.

Because the boy has a terrifying secret - one that would just kill to get out.

The Girl from the Well is A YA Horror novel pitched as "Dexter" meets "The Grudge", based on a well-loved Japanese ghost story."

I was approved yesterday for this book and finished all 304 pages in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. It bare similarity to The Ring and The Grudge. They are all based off the same Japanese legend ,however this is my favorite version of all. If you like Japanese folklore, scary and creepy, this book is for you. I love the writing style as well and will be watching for more by this author! She wrote an excellent book.

This was a very intriguing book. There are so many twists an turns, just when I thought I had it figured out, it changed. I was constantly on the edge of my seat. If you're in the mood for a mystery that keeps you in your toes, pick this book up. I can't wait to read what River has been up to. I was so excited to get to the end only after seeing there would be a second book. Great book, you should check it out.

Wow... Loved this book. Wish I would have read it way sooner. I was guessing clear up to the very end, not sure if it was a haunting or just pure insanity. Was he alive or dead, real or imagined. The cliff hanger at the end got me good. Payday I will be purchasing book two, I need to know what happens next to Dan, Abby and Jordan. This book is well written and very entertaining, constantly keeping you hooked...

Packaged Deal By Kate Vale

Package DealPackage Deal by Kate Vale
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This certainly was not my normal genre of book. However it had just enough suspense to keep me very intrigued. I was able to completely relate to Amanda and Cecelia's relationship, as a single mother myself, one who also has never chose a man over her child, regardless of what she has to give up for the happiness of her children. I was also cheering for Marcus the whole time thru this story. Parts made me laugh and some made me tear up but not because I was sad but because I was happy. I'm use to way more suspense in my books, however Kate Vale gave just the right amount to keep me reading, and in the process, fall in love with all the characters, all except the icky man, of course... Tho I never did get to find out for sure if good old Will got back to himself, tho I'm safe in betting he managed well. This was a good book, and I'd like to thank Kate Vale for giving me the opportunity to step outside my realm for a bit and enjoy her book. Stop by her website and check out what she has to offer. www.katevale.com
