The Haunted By Jessica Verday (The Hollow #2)

The Haunted (The Hollow, #2) After a summer spent reclaiming her sanity and trying to forget the boy she fell in love with--the boy who must not exist, cannot exist, because she knows that he is dead--Abbey returns to Sleepy Hollow, ready to leave the ghosts of her past behind. She throws herself into her schoolwork, her perfume-making, and her friendship with Ben, her cute and funny lab partner, who just might be her ticket to getting over Caspian once and for all.

But Abbey can never get over Caspian, and Caspian has no choice but to return to her side, for Caspian is a Shade, and Abbey is his destiny. They are tied not only to each other, but also to the town of Sleepy Hollow, and to the famous legend that binds their fates--a legend whose dark truths they are only beginning to guess....

I'm so mad at myself for not already buying The Hidden, I need to know what happens next... I'm completely in love with this series... what a beautiful love story... I know that sounds odd huh, but I would love to have someone love me the way Caspian and Abbey love one another, dead or alive.... sigh <3

Beautuful Creatures By Kami Garcia

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1)Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

I absolutely adored this book, it is AMAZING, I would tell anyone to read this book at least once if not more... HOWEVER, DO NOT GO SEE THE MOVIE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!! The movie was horrible, They didnt explain anything, Ethan's dad is barely in it they end completely changed they left out characters combined character, turned a bad guy into a good guy, you know at the beginning everything there is to know about one who in the book you dont know till the last chapters, they take out Boo, and the book of moons never was in the library... This book is amazing and the movie did not do it justice... READ THE BOOK :) You will fall in love with this story I promise...

The Water Witch By Juliet Dark

The Water Witch (Fairwick Chronicles, #2)

After casting out a dark spirit, Callie McFay, a professor of gothic literature, has at last restored a semblance of calm to her rambling Victorian house. But in the nearby thicket of the Honeysuckle Forest, and in the currents of the rushing Undine River, more trouble is stirring. . . .

The enchanted town of Fairwick’s dazzling mix of mythical creatures has come under siege from the Grove: a sinister group of witches determined to banish the fey back to their ancestral land. With factions turning on one another, all are cruelly forced to take sides. Callie’s grandmother, a prominent Grove member, demands her granddaughter’s compliance, but half-witch/half-fey Callie can hardly betray her friends and colleagues at the college.

To stave off disaster, Callie enlists Duncan Laird, an alluring seductive academic who cultivates her vast magical potential, but to what end? Deeply conflicted, Callie struggles to save her beloved Fairwick, dangerously pushing her extraordinary powers to the limit—risking all, even the needs of her own passionate heart.

An amazing tale... I couldnt get enough... I loved following Calli thru her mishaps in magic and seeing her devotion to her new family of good neighbors... Calli has a good heart and I enjoyed my journey with her thru the woods and the banks of the Undine... I hadn't done my research before requesting this ARC and was unfortunate to not have read The Demon Lover, book one. However it didn't matter the author filled me in so much so that I didn't miss a thing. I'm excited to read both The Demon Lover and book 3 The Hallowed Door, when it comes out...

Iron Fey 4.5 and The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa

Iron's Prophecy (The Iron Fey, #4.5)

Iron's Prophecy (The Iron Fey #4.5)

by

Meghan Chase is finally getting used to being the Iron Queen, ruler of the Iron Fey. Her life may be strange, but with former Winter prince Ash by her side at last, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

But when they travel to the Summer and Winter courts’ gathering for Elysium, the oracle from Meghan’s past returns with a dire prophecy: “What you carry will either unite the courts, or it will destroy them.” Now Meghan faces a devastating choice that may determine the future of all fey—and her and Ash’s unborn child…

A novella from the bestselling Iron Fey series

My Review:
I absolutely loved this short story, it is a great lead in to the Lost Prince, and a perfect ending for the Iron Fey Series... I look forward to all the Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten Series...

The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten, #1)

The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #1) by

Don’t look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them.

That is Ethan Chase’s unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he’d dare to fall for.

Ethan thought he had protected himself from his older sister’s world—the land of Faery. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myth and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten.

My Review:
Julia Kagawa is at it again... I couldn't put it down. Ethan all grown up and Grim I just adore him. Lots to enjoy in this book, it had me cheering all the way. Can not wait for the next one. The whole Iron Fey series is a must read from book one to five, its worth the time...

Then You Were Gone by Lauren Strasnick

Then You Were Gone by Lauren Strasnick

Then You Were Gone
In the tradition of 13 Reasons Why, a suspenseful and heart-wrenching novel from the author of Nothing Like You and Her and Me and You.Two years ago, Adrienne’s best friend walked out of her life. One week ago, she left Adrienne a desperate, muffled voicemail. Adrienne never called back.

Now Dakota is missing. She left behind a string of broken hearts, a flurry of rumors, and a suicide note.

Adrienne can’t stop obsessing over what might have happened if she’d answered Dakota’s call. And she’s increasingly convinced that Dakota must still be alive.

Maybe finding and saving Dakota is the only way Adrienne can save herself.

Or maybe it’s too late for them both.

I Received this as an ARC, in trade paperback...

I really enjoyed following Adrienne through her journey and self discovery... while this is consider a YA book, I'm not sure I'd recommend it to those under 16, due to some of the content. However the story is a great read... Fast read as well, I would have had it done sooner had I not been sick while reading it... The ending, well it caught me by surprise... I would recommend this to my friends, well and I have... good book

Alice In Zombieland By Gena Showalter

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

This book totally ties with another book(to be reviewed later) for the number one spot in my top favorite books of 2012!!! I am not a Zombie fan normally, but Gena Showalter hooked me just in the first few lines... I loved this book so much and I can not wait for book 2 to come out. Sadly that isn't until October 2013...Gena Showalter in my opinion took zombies to a whole new level and it was amazing. I loved every second of this book and never wanted it to end. And the last few chapters blew me away. If you have not read this book yet, go buy it and read it... Also the book itself, is really cool looking, why are you still reading this, go but this book and start reading it :)

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real….

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….

I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

Crank Trilogy By Ellen Hopkins

Crank Trilogy (Crank #1-3)

Crank-Glass-Fallout

By Ellen Hopkins

The heart-wrenching bestselling Crank trilogy shows that addiction is never just one person’s problem.

I give this series 5 stars... I loved it, it made me laugh it made me cry. I was sad when it ended,it was really amazing. I love the way Ellen Hopkins writes. The poetry made it seem more intense more real. It is the reason I have now purchased more of Ellen Hopkins books. Also it does not look like it but her books are a fast read. You may look at the amount of pages and think I'm crazy, but I read all of them in a little under 2 days each, now be it the poetry or the fact that I just couldn't put them down, I don't know. I do want to warn parents tho, this series has a lot of brutal honestly about addiction and what it causes, if you are censoring your children, then you may want to read it first. I am 40 and I loved it. I think however I may tell my daughter she has to wait till shes 17 before I let her read them. BUT if you know someone heading down this road, or has already been there, or is there, this series is something you should read, it is amazing how well she captures the road of addiction. Something not easy to really do... I think she did an amazing job,and I recommend this series to all...

Crank Trilogy

Crank
Kristina is the perfect daughter: gifted high school junior, quiet, never any trouble. Then she meets the monster: crank. And what begins as a wild ride turns into a struggle for her mind, her soul—her life.

Glass

Now with a baby to care for, she is determined to be the one deciding when and how much, the one calling the shots. But the monster is strong, and before she knows it, Kristina is back in its grip . . . and it won’t let go.

Fallout

 My Review on Goodreads:
OMG!!!!! ok ok like I even thought anything less than AMAZING could come from Melissa Marr... I loved every second I spent on this, forcing myself to put it down to work or sleep... I have to say I'm team Aya hehe if you haven't read this yet, you should... Only issue I have is Melissa when does book 2 come out??? please don't make me wait too long :-) As Always Melissa your book was amazing and I can not wait for your next book be it Carnival of Souls 2 or anything else :)

Carnival of Souls (Carnival of Souls, #1)
In a city of daimons, rigid class lines separate the powerful from the power-hungry. And at the heart of The City is the Carnival of Souls, where both murder and pleasure are offered up for sale. Once in a generation, the carnival hosts a deadly competition that allows every daimon a chance to join the ruling elite. Without the competition, Aya and Kaleb would both face bleak futures--if for different reasons. For each of them, fighting to the death is the only way to try to live.

All Mallory knows of The City is that her father--and every other witch there--fled it for a life in exile in the human world. Instead of a typical teenage life full of friends and maybe even a little romance, Mallory scans quiet streets for threats, hides herself away, and trains to be lethal. She knows it's only a matter of time until a daimon finds her and her father, so she readies herself for the inevitable. While Mallory possesses little knowledge of The City, every inhabitant of The City knows of her. There are plans for Mallory, and soon she, too, will be drawn into the decadence and danger that is the Carnival of Souls.

From Melissa Marr, bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely series and "Graveminder," comes a brand-new tale of lush secrets, dark love, and the struggle to forge one's own destiny.

House Of Night - Burned - Book 7

House Of Night - Burned - Book 7

  Defiantly 5 stars

This one was also a favorite and they just keep getting better the more you read... I dont want to ruin anything for those who have yet to read this series but Im telling you they are some of the best books to read and they get better, I cant wait to get finished with the series... :)

Burned (House of Night, #7)

Y’all need to get yourselves together. Here’s a newsflash from the only High Priestess you have left at this dang school: Zoey isn’t dead. And believe me, I know dead. I’ve been there, done that and got the fricken tee-shirt.

Zoey Redbird is the youngest High Priestess in House of Night history and is the only person—vamp or fledgling—that can stop the evil Neferet from raising all kinds of immortal trouble. And she might just have a chance if she wasn’t so busy being dead.Well, dead is too strong a word. Stevie Rae knows she can bring her BFF back from her unscheduled va-cay in the Otherworld. But it’s going to take a lot more than hoping to bring Zoey back. Stevie Rae will have to give up a few secrets of her own..

House Of Night - Tempted - Book 6

House Of Night - Tempted - Book 6

  More 5 stars

I loved this one, I was a lil surprised at some of the things that happened and be prepared to have tissues on standby if your sappy like me :)

Zoey needs a break after some serious excitement. Sadly, the House of Night school for vampyres doesn’t feature breaks on its curriculum—even for a High Priestess in training and her gang. Plus juggling three guys is no stress reliever, especially when one is a sexy Warrior so into protecting Zoey that he’s sensing her emotions. Wider stresses lurk too, and the dark force in Tulsa’s tunnels is spreading. Could Stevie Rae be responsible for more than a group of misfit fledglings? And Aphrodite’s visions warn Zoey to stay away from the immortal Kalona and his dark allure—but they also show that only Zoey can stop him. She’s not exactly keen to meet up, but if Zoey doesn’t go to Kalona he’ll exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. She just has to find the courage to do what’s necessary, or everything that’s important to her will be destroyed.

House Of Night - Hunted - Book 5

House Of Night - Hunted - Book 5

A complete and total 5 stars

This was probably one of my most favorite so far, I loved all the action filled in this book... The twists and turns were awesome and kept me on my toes and def. left me wanting to pick up book six asap, which I did :) only thing was it was one of the longest ones to read as well, but its worth it :)

Hunted (House of Night, #5)

At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey’s friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren’t Neferet’s secrets any longer.  But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses.  Kalona looks gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life shows Zoey secrets she doesn’t want to hear and truths she can’t face?
On the run and holed up in Tulsa’s Prohibition-era tunnels, Zoey and her gang must discover a way to deal with something that might bring them all down.  Meanwhile, Zoey has a few other little problems.  The red fledglings have cleaned up well – they’ve even managed to make the dark, creepy tunnels feel more like home – but are they really as friendly as they seem?  On the boyfriend front, Zoey has a chance to make things right with super-hot ex-, Erik, but she can’t stop thinking about Stark, the archer who died in her arms after one unforgettable night, and she is driven to try to save him from Neferet’s sinister influence at all costs.  Will anyone believe the power evil has to hide among us?

Untamed- House of Night Book 4

Untamed- House of Night Book 4

Gets 5 stars from me :)

Great book, loved it way more than book 3, I currently am now on book 6, I havent been able to get online and update this much... But I have no complaints about this one, tho I wish I had Zoey's guys issues, if only we could all be so lucky HAHAHA

Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, the only two Zoey has left are undead and unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her?  Zoey's adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wild and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened in PC and Kristin Cast's spellbinding fourth House of Night novel.

Chosen - House of Night- Book 3

Well this one gets:
This was my least favorite so far... While I still loved it and the story, there were many points where I just wanted to slap Zoey upside the head, and ask her REALLY??? Or Please Just Please.... UGH but other than that its a great story, the last five chapters or so kick ass and I can tell you that book four is way way better, but ya gotta read three to know whats going on :) Im not saying it was bad, just not as good as books 1,2 and 4 :)
I still say this series kicks butt tho READ IT!!!

Chosen House of Night, PC Cast:
Chosen (House of Night, #3)

Dark forces are at work at the House of Night and fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school take a mysterious turn.  Those who appear to be friends are turning out to be enemies.  And oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends.  So begins the gripping third installment of this “highly addictive series” , in which Zoey’s mettle will be tested like never before.  Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn’t have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae discover must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity.  Speaking of rare: Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected and rare position of having three boyfriends. Mix a little bloodlust into the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster.  Just when it seems things couldn’t get any tougher, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like the People of Faith, and Zoey’s horrid step-father in particular, are tired of living side-by-side with vampyres.  But, as Zoey and her friends so often find out, how things appear rarely reflects the truth…

Betrayed - House Of Night Book 2

 Yet another:
I finished this last night and begun Chosen, book 3... I love reading all right in a row, also Im beginning to get addicted to this series. I thought this one was as awesome as book 1, if not more, I definitely wanted to go on to Chosen right away... Also if your a crier like I am, be forewarned your gonna cry about 65% of the way thru, your gonna get mad, and then your gonna be cheering...I was caught off guard, but then not everyone is as emotional reading books as I am... One other note I wanted to mention... I checked in on Get Glue and the comment below mine was how the person was getting annoyed with all the imprint stuff. I want to remind readers, only 2 months time has gone by in the first 3 books, its only Christmas when you start book 3, she began in October. Maybe its because I read them right in a row without a break on other books, or that I have read them so late after they have been out, but honestly if the Imprint situation was already over now that would seem more fake than it taking a few months... I don't know that's just my opinion.

I say pick up House of Night, its a great read.... :)

Betrayed (House of Night, #2)

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night.  She's come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs--like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world

House Of Night- Marked (Book 1)

House Of Night- Marked (Book 1)

(For House Of Night I will review each book as I read it, which is what my intent was to begin with when I made this page, however I was so busy setting it up I ended up reading more than I was reviewing....)

A 100% :
WELL I have to say I loved this book it was/is AMAZING!!!! I have to say it took me a long time to pick up this book, at the insistence of my niece I got them, just hadn't read them I was reading other series :) and at her persistence the other night I picked up book one and started to read... AND Im so glad I did, I just finished it about an hour ago and it was one of the best books Ive read. House Of Night is totally on my favorites list... Within the first chapter, I was LMAO, and sharing quotes, I have it on my kindle touch... :) At the end I was even teary eyed....I found that even tho Im 40, there was a time that I totally could relate to Zoey, I think we have been there, welll maybe cept the vampyer fledgling part haha :) I say if you have not read this series you should totally pick up Marked and get started I cant wait to start Betrayed as soon as I get off the computer and my kids are in bed and I can lay down in quiet and start reading :)

After a Vampire Tracker Marks her with a crescent moon on her forehead, 16-year-old Zoey Redbird enters the House of Night and learns that she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx and has affinities for all five elements: Air, Fire Water, Earth and Spirit. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is mis-using her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny – with a little help from her new vampyre friends (or Nerd Herd, as Aphrodite calls them).

What Is Your Affinity?
Earth You are incredibly loyal and trustworthy, and your friends can always count on you. Like Stevie Rae, you are cautious and slow to change.

Fledglings with an affinity for earth are great at offering help and will be there when friends need a shoulder to cry on. They may not always be imaginative, but will have no trouble finishing projects that they start.

Hello and here you have it finally my first review. I will have more to come :)
Mytho's Academy gets a total from me :)  I love the whole series I recomend it to anyone who loves YA Academy books, or magic of any kind, as well as mythology, this is a great read.

(all information is from Ms. Esteps official site)

The Mythos Academy books focus on Gwen Frost, a 17-year-old Gypsy girl who has the gift of psychometry, or the ability to know an object’s history just by touching it. Gwen’s magic lets her see everyone who has ever touched or used an object as well as feel their emotions — the good, the bad, and the ugly. After a serious freak-out with her magic, Gwen finds herself shipped off to Mythos Academy, a school for the descendents of ancient warriors like Spartans, Valkyries, and more. The academy is located in the fictional suburb of Cypress Mountain, North Carolina, and the kids there are training how to use their magic and various skills to fight Reapers of Chaos. The Reapers are some seriously bad guys who want to free the evil god Loki from his mystical prison so Loki can take over the world and enslave everyone.
Gwen doesn’t think that she belongs at the academy or that she’s any kind of warrior, but she’s wrong — and she’s a lot stronger than she realizes.

A question asked on Jennifer's site, was is Mytho's Academy just for teens? Jennifer's answer:

"Not at all. Adults can read the books too. Personally, I love reading young adult books — they’re just as good as adult books. They are so many great young adult books out there that you’re bound to find some that you like."

I agree 100%, I loved this series and I am 40 years old :) I actually prefer the YA books to the Adult books, you actually get more of a story and way less sex scenes, which are not always bad but sometimes just totally off the point of the story.
